Photography by Andriete Le Secq 2112 454x600

Creative and amazing fashion/glamour/beauty photography by Andriete Le Secq, talented female photographer, who working with fashion, music, advertising, fine art / glamour. Andriete knows how to create, with enormous inventiveness, a special atmosphere to produce her photographs, whose characters are in permanent conflict: the unmeasured love, the wild passion, the male and female, the sacred and the profane, all under a strong and engaging light. Her work is a break (rupture) from the predictable documental and descriptive scenes of daily life, in her images, she faces the lust, the pleasure, the anxieties, as the representation of emotional momentary explosion in the act of living.

With movie lighting which she seeks to incorporate in her work from the beginning of her career, extracted form classic movies she watched since very young, Andriete learned how to direct a scene and show the exuberance of this light which fills the scene, embraces the portrayed and evidences the black and white tones, her most recognized authorial mark. From her confident art direction, articulated with the experienced directing of the portrayed, emerge her pleurae-sensorial provocative images. Her view isn’t aware of the happenings which override the sense of our existence, yet is close to the interpretational fantasy which, in a certain way, carries a dose of materialistic veracity. Andriete chooses the body as a vehicle for a literal or metaphorical representation of the radical and dramatic experiences of her human life without compromising the sensitivity, responsible for the poetic essence of her photographs.

Moreover, her work has irreverence and audacity. Although classical in her framing and from meticulously carved light, Andriete produces restless intriguing photography, because she knows how to empower herself with the unexpected while seeking the moment, which is the synthesis of ecstasy, involved in a scene punctuated its strangeness. Her synthesis still incorporates trembled planes, motion, excess grain, stained scenery and other noisy factors which interfere in the construction of the image. Her rehearsals are marked by this unquietness, involved by human beauty. The photographic sequences denote a world vision which explores small gestures and scenery based, mainly on the influence exerted by the work of her favourities photographers and film makers.

Andriete places the visible world in suspense when representing the joyful ecstasy in an absolutely astonishing form. For her, to expose the characters in this manner, on the limit of an apparent superation, is a radical notion of intervention in the creative photographic process. If historically photography represents some passed moment, Andriete considers necessary to convert the image in something which subverts the bourgeois religious world order to awaken the reader(viewer?), most of the times passive, which ignores the beauty and seduction, the wildness of imagination.

Her work is a possible synthesis extracted from a vast imagistic repertoire developed along her life, to show with impactive emotion, life as one might wish it would be and as it is. Yet few, as Andriete, have the courage to shoot and show this outrageously passionate mystery of mankind and discern the enigma which is the esthetic experiences of these unquiet appearances.

We can distinguish in her photographs that all the characters can’t maintain themselves in the obviousness of the picture. Andriete is beyond provocative in direction of the scene and forces her characters the ledge of the abyss and uncertainty, to flagrantly show an image which satisfies her inventive needs, and with this has gained the fame and reputation of provocative and demanding, for she articulates in her creativity the difficult path of equilibrium between the technical rigidness and the freedom of dramatic action, producing a view totally new and differentiated for the photographic production scene.

In times where photographic production seems excessively repetitive and without esthetically expressive perspectives, maybe is still needed, or again, see images which explode in a hard and static light, which demands attention and concentration in their densities and subtleties which offer as an electrifying singular adventure in the contemporaneous visual world.

In this world, dominated by the coldness of numerical data, by the barbarous economics, the ethical differences and by the exaggerated invasion of privacy tuned public, Andriete produces images which appeal directly to the human senses. In the exact rectangular photographic framing, she composes her interior disorder and her asymmetries, punctuated by specks of light which seek to represent, provocatively her feelings and indignation. As we are surrounded by unexpressive images, easily recognizable, from the visual work of Andriete seems to emerge a narrative which seeks to recover transcendence that resides in the act of creation.

There is a timelessness to the work – some reminds me of hollywood glamour from a bygone era.
